Julie Goussot discovers lyrical singing within the Masters of the Toulon Opera under the baton of Giuliano Carella. In addition to her design studies, the soprano received her DEM (Diploma in Musical Studies) with excellent mention, with unanimous congratulations from the jury in Nîmes. Encouraged by her Nîmes professor Daniel Salas, she entered the CNSMD competition (National Conservatory of Music and Dance) in Lyon in 2016. She was admitted and joined the class of Brian Parsons, then Mireille Delunsch. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in the class of Andreas Schmidt.

Prize winner of several international competitions include the 2015 CFPL prize awarded by M.Raymond Duffaut at the Arles competition, the Young Artist prize at the Béziers competition and more recently the audience prize at the 2017 Young Talent Raymond Duffaut competition at the Opéra Grand Avignon. She was also awarded  a scholarship for the 2018 Wagner Festspiele by the Richard Wagner Trust in Lyon.

On the recital platform, Julie has formed a duo with pianist Rodolphe Lospied,  her friend from the CNSMD under the name of Duo Symbiose. Fascinated by melody and lied repertoire, they received precious advice from David Selig, Charles Bouisset and Hartmut Höll.

Her repertoire highlights include: Leïla in Les Pêcheurs de Perles, Juliette in Romeo and Juliette, Blanche in the Dialogues of the CarmelitesFiordiligi in Così Fan TuttePamina in Die ZauberflöteMicaëla in CarmenLiù in Turandot and Mimì in La Bohème.

An accomplished artist, she has performed in Edgar Varese’s Offrandes with the CNSM orchestra under the baton of Fabrice Pierre, as well as creations including Isadora by Emmanuelle da Costa under the baton of Guillemette Daboval. We will find her in Mendelssohn’s Ein Sommernachstraum, the Christmas Oratorio by Camille Saint-Saëns and the Gloria by Poulenc under the baton of Marko Letonja with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Of a curious nature and interested in discovering new repertoire, she is part of the « Opera Déconfiné » project which aims at uncovering forgotten repertoire and recording it for the first time.

Her stage highlights include: Peaseblossom in A midsummer night’s dream by Benjamin Britten, La Princesse in L’Enfant et Les Sortilèges by Maurice Ravel,  First Witch in Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell, the title role Cendrillon by Jules Massenet.

Since joining the Opera Fuoco young artist directed by David Stern, she played Luise in Die Stumme Serenade by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Romilda in Xerxes by Händel, Barberina in Nozze di Figaro by Mozart, and soon Cintia in Il Pittor Parigino by Cimarosa.

As part of the prestigious Strasbourg Opera House young artist since 2019, she was the Second Nymph in Rusalka by Dvořák, Vierte Blumenmädchen in Parsifal by Wagner. For the 2020/21 season, she will be Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel by Humperdinck, the title rôle in Friederike by Lehàr, the title role in Madame Chrysanthème by Messager, and Clorinda in the new production of Cenerentolina

In August 2020, she won the Concerto Theresia prize and the Young Artist Award at the Cesti International Competition 2020. She will be part of the Young Singer Project « Barockoper Jung » at the next Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik 2021.
